Partnering for Optimal Health
Most chiropractors regard the elimination of symptoms as the easiest part of a person's care.
However, if all that chiropractor does is reduce the pain and stop there, it is very likely that the condition will reappear.
So, to prevent the symptoms from quickly reappearing, it is necessary to continue receiving care even though your symptoms are gone.
Pain is a Poor Benchmark of Health: An Analogy
More examples! If you drop a 10 pound bowling ball (ouch!) on your foot, are you in pain? Darn straight! But, are you still healthy? More than likely.
But, what if you have a cancerous tumor that is growing daily, yet you have not discovered it? Are you healthy, even though you do not yet feel any pain? Tragically, no.
Important: Please know that we empathize with you if you, or anyone close to you, is having to or had to battle the ugliness of cancer. We DO NOT use it as an example lightly. NO ONE should EVER HAVE TO go through that ugly, nasty battle. NO ONE.
Written Simply: Pain Is a VERY Poor Benchmark of Health.
So, during the Corrective Phase, you will likely receive more aggressive treatment than during the Pain Relief Phase, but less often. You might also begin - or add on - exercises and stretches both at our center and at home to help accelerate your healing.
Now, it is important to know that mild flare-ups in your symptoms on occasion. This is normal. Flare-ups happen because your body has not fully healed. Depending on the severity of your injury or condition and how long you have been suffering from it, this phase of your care may last from a few months to a few years.
